Something(s) to look forward to!

I canNOT believe that March is here already.... February flew by!  I feel like I have been waiting for something to get excited about, and now it's all finally here!!!  I get to pick up my best friend from the airport in 7 DAYS and then my cousin is coming 2 weeks after that! Next Whitney and Zach get home and then my big trip to LONDON is after that- less than a month away!!!!  I finally booked my tickets for that trip and it makes it seem real- I am finally going to Europe!  I'm so excited to see my lovely Kelly!  And also excited to just be in London- all I want is to listen to everyone talk :) haha I absolutely love British accents- I seriously could just listen to all the funny things they say all day long.  They are going to think I'm so weird.


Things at work have been going pretty well... every night is still a challenge and I'm still pretty anxious/panicky/worried about a million different things during my shift, but I'm building my confidence and getting better at a lot of things.  I've seen some very interesting stuff (can't really write about it here unfortunately) and I am glad that my job is so fascinating to me!  I've also signed up for a whole bunch of classes over the next several months on vascular nursing and sheaths and ekgs and other stuff- I am so lucky to have the opportunity to learn all of this in my first year!!  It's definitely going to be really beneficial for the rest of my career- even if it gets in the way of some of my summer travel plans...


We've hired some travelers at work and I've talked to several of them about traveling nursing.......... hmmm.  Just something I'm pondering.  Lots of benefits.  Really the biggest drawback for me is that I think I'm a bit of a slow learner when it comes to acclimating to a new place and feeling comfortable/confident, and travelers get like one day of orientation. One.  But I'm still keeping it in mind.


I've been attempting to make my apartment feel more like home lately... honestly (please don't judge) I've still got some stuff in boxes.  And I had nothing up on the walls until a few days ago.  So now I've got some stuff up, but I am pretty bad at decorating and knowing where to put stuff... another problem is just finding prints or photos I even like that don't cost a million dollars.  I'm just not in love with any of the artwork at Target. sorry.


Anyone watching American Idol??  I am, oddly enough!  I don't think I've watched it since maybe Carrie Underwood was on it... I still think that Kelly Clarkson is the absolute best voice they've ever found.  Hot damn.  Anyway, I'm loving Crystal Bowersox and Lilly Scott a LOT this year.  Also Andrew Garcia and Casey James.  I've been watching it on my new Samsung HDTV=== love!  And also I just have to take a moment to say how much I love DVR. too much.

Well, guess I'm going to try and take a nap before work tonight... I fell asleep around midnight on accident and now can't sleep today.  Tonight will be rough.
Tomorrow I'm going to Pappy & Harriet's in Joshua Tree for some live music and fun with some friends- then Tuesday is Kathy Griffin!  She is so damn hilarious.
