10 for '10 (My Resolutions)

Today I'm listening to: "Alright" by Kinnie Starr

WHAT an incredible year!

So many, many things have changed this year, and I am so very thankful that I have been able to roll with them, and that I'm still going strong!  Looking back, I: moved to Boulder to live with my wonderful family- an experience that I will never forget (I am so lucky!), found my one true passion in nursing and got to see/discover the beauty that is childbirth, graduated from nursing school with some of the most wonderful friends in the world, traveled to NYC and vowed to live there someday, spent my summer with family and traveling, passed (by some small miracle) the NCLEX and made the last four difficult years worth it, celebrated a wedding with my amazing sister and new brother, got the new PERFECT car (jetta <3) that I have been waiting so long for, celebrated new beginnings for many of my friends- including law school for my best friend!, packed up my whole life into my Jetta and drove to California to start my new life, moved in with the best roommate I've ever had- my amazingly supportive aunt, went through a nursing internship with the best preceptor and guidance I could have ever hoped for, made some new friends, and became a REAL NURSE!

This has been a BIG, challenging, changing, difficult, exciting, hopeful, intense, beautiful year, and I hope that 2010 will bring on some more!

Ten things I want to work harder at or do in the coming year:

1. Traveling! Get me on that jet plane- I have people and places to see!! :)

2. Exercise... I want to learn to love it.  No excuses, less laziness.

3. Eat tons of healthy, delicious foods and keep striving on my path toward cutting out alllll animal products and being vegan.  Help people to understand why I am a vegetarian, and why it is so vitally important to me.

4. Figure out what I am looking for in love, and keep an open mind.  Love myself first, so that I may love others more.

5. Make my new home a true reflection of myself, and a relaxing, beautiful place to be (even if I need a lot of help with that!).

6. Work hard at my job, and remember why I do what I do. Be strong, ask for help, and learn as much as possible every. single. day.

7. Sing more, and learn to play guitar.  Enjoy and let musicals and music enrich my life!

8. Pick a language (French or Spanish????) and finally learn to speak something other than English!

9. Fight and Stand Up for what I believe in, and do more to help causes that I passionately care about.

10. Listen more, talk less. Forgive, forgive, let go, forgive. (Thanks Kris Carr!)

Wishing for peace and hope for the world---- Happy New Year!

Love, Mara
